Audemars Piguet today unveils the latest chapter in its legendary Royal Oak saga: the Perpetual Calendar 2025, reference 26674ST.OO.1320ST.01. Housed in a 41 mm stainless‑steel case with a deep blue Grande Tapisserie dial, this model marries the design DNA of 1972 with a thoroughly modern movement and user‑friendly functionality.

A Movement for the Modern Collector

At the heart of the new model beats the Calibre 7138, a freshly engineered perpetual‑calendar calibre running at 4 Hz with a 55‑hour power reserve. Unlike its predecessors, all calendar corrections—day, date, month, leap‑year, week‑number and moon‑phase—are made effortlessly via the crown, eliminating the need for recessed pushers and adjustment tools. Three patented innovations ensure both precision and reliability over decades of service.

Design That Honors Its Legacy

True to Gerald Genta’s original vision, the Royal Oak’s octagonal bezel, integrated bracelet and satin‑brushed surfaces remain intact. Yet the new calibre’s slimmer profile allows the case to measure just 9.5 mm in thickness—preserving wearability under shirt cuffs. The moon‑phase at 6 o’clock retains its poetic realism, while a sapphire‑crystal caseback reveals the calibre’s hand‑finished bridges and windswept Geneva stripes.

A Subtle Evolution, Not a Reinvention

Rather than overhaul its most revered complication, Audemars Piguet has refined it. The Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar 2025 is a study in discreet excellence—enhancing usability and thinness without diluting the model’s unmistakable identity. It’s a thoughtful upgrade for collectors who demand both heritage and forward‑thinking mechanics.
