GPHG 2025: PART 1 OF THE 25TH EDITION’S OFFICIAL NOMINATIONS

Marking its 25th anniversary, the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) has unveiled the official nominations for 2025. In this first part of our series, we spotlight five categories — Femme, Complication pour femme, TimeOnly, Homme, and Complication pour homme — celebrating timepieces that embody elegance, artistry, and horological mastery.

The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) celebrates its 25th edition this year, unveiling 90 nominated timepieces selected from 302 submissions representing 184 brands. These exceptional creations now compete across 15 categories for one of 20 prizes, including the coveted “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix, to be awarded in Geneva on 13 November 2025 at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices.

As the world’s most influential celebration of fine watchmaking, the GPHG not only honours craftsmanship and innovation but also provides a stage for brands both established and independent to showcase their artistry. In this first part of our three-part series, we spotlight five categories that exemplify elegance, creativity, and technical mastery: Femme, Complication pour femme, TimeOnly, Homme, and Complication pour homme.

Femme

A celebration of elegance and timeless beauty, the Femme category highlights watches designed to resonate with femininity while upholding uncompromising horological precision. These pieces embody jewellery-like artistry and refined proportions, where aesthetics are inseparable from watchmaking excellence.

Audemars Piguet – Royal Oak Mini Frosted Gold Quartz

Gérald Genta – Gentissima Oursin Fire Opal

Louis Vuitton – Tambour Convergence Blue

Piaget – Sixtie

Tiffany & Co. – Bird on a Rock Legacy Watch (Tanzanite)

Voutilainen – 28CG

Complication pour femme

In this category, mechanical ingenuity meets feminine creativity. Complicated women’s watches are increasingly commanding attention, marrying poetic design with technical achievement — from flying tourbillons to imaginative displays.

Chopard – Imperiale Four Seasons

Franck Muller – Round Triple Mystery

Gucci – Interlocking

Hermès – Heure Suspendue

TimeOnly

Sometimes, less truly is more. The TimeOnly category strips horology back to its essence: hours, minutes, and sometimes seconds. Here, design purity, fine finishing, and balance distinguish watches that celebrate simplicity while embodying watchmaking at its most honest.

Daniel Roth – Extra-Plat Rose Gold

MING – Project 21

Parmigiani Fleurier – Tonda PF Micro-Rotor Platinum

Piaget – Andy Warhol Watch Clous de Paris Edition

Raul Pagès – RP2

Tasaki – Face of Tasaki Black Mother-of-Pearl

Homme

From understated dress pieces to bold statements of character, the Homme category showcases men’s watches that embody both tradition and forward-thinking design. These are timepieces made to stand the test of time while reflecting the individuality of their wearer.

Chopard – L.U.C Quattro Mark IV

Garrick – S3 Deadbeat Seconds with Power Reserve

Grand Seiko – Spring Drive UFA

Laurent Ferrier – Classic Auto Horizon

Urban Jürgensen – Three-Hand with Wheel Natural Escapement

Zenith – GFJ Calibre 135

Complication pour homme

At the pinnacle of complexity, the Complication pour homme category honours haute horlogerie’s most technically ambitious timepieces. Perpetual calendars, astronomical indications, and intricate mechanisms take centre stage, demonstrating that mechanical watchmaking remains an art of limitless imagination.

Audemars Piguet – Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar 150th Anniversary Openworked

Bovet 1822 – Récital 30

Chopard – L.U.C Lunar One

Louis Vuitton – LVKV 02 GMR6

Parmigiani Fleurier – Toric Quantième Perpétuel

Urban Jürgensen – Double Wheel Natural Perpetual Calendar with Instantaneous Moonphase

These five categories set the tone for the 25th anniversary of the GPHG, where artistry, elegance, and technical ambition converge. In our next instalment, we will explore further categories that spotlight the avant-garde spirit of modern horology: tourbillons, chronographs, divers, and the icons that continue to redefine the landscape of fine watchmaking.
