Porsche is extending its philosophy of sustainable performance beyond roads and racetracks, bringing it to the water with the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air. Developed in collaboration with Austria-based Frauscher Shipyard, this electric sports boat combines the luxury, precision, and driving experience Porsche is known for with the craftsmanship and elegance of a premium day cruiser. At nearly nine metres long, the eFantom Air offers ample space for passengers to relax or enjoy watersports, while its layout — from sunbathing pads at the stern to the bow seating area — balances comfort with sporty ergonomics. Every detail reflects Porsche DNA, from the helmstand designed by Studio F. A. Porsche to the redesigned sport seats and a cockpit that merges analogue gauges with a modern multifunction display for seamless control and navigation.
The heart of the eFantom lies in its drivetrain, adapted directly from Porsche’s all-electric Macan. Porsche engineers reimagined their Premium Platform Electric (PPE) technology for marine use, positioning the electric motor and battery low in the hull to optimize balance, handling, and performance. This setup allows the boat to deliver powerful acceleration while remaining agile in tight turns, with multiple driving modes enabling precise control in harbors, relaxed cruising, or full-speed thrills. Advanced power electronics and the 800-volt architecture ensure fast charging at DC stations and efficient energy management, while Porsche’s engineering refinements maintain the quiet, emission-free experience that makes electric boating so compelling.

Beyond performance, the eFantom represents a new standard in sustainable luxury. Its design draws inspiration from the iconic 911 and upcoming Macan, with high-gloss instrument panels, winglet-style side elements, and subtle cues in the seats and controls. Features such as ambient and underwater LED lighting, a high-end audio system, foldable bimini tops, and a bow thruster combine practical functionality with elegance, while extensive customization allows owners to reflect their personal style in hull and upholstery colours. The boat can serve as a day cruiser, a tender for larger yachts, or a platform for water sports — all without the noise, vibration, or odour of a combustion engine.
Production of the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air will be strictly limited, with an exclusive first edition of 25 units built at Frauscher’s Ohlsdorf shipyard in Austria, and deliveries expected from 2024. Porsche supplies the battery, powertrain, and helm modules, while Frauscher oversees final assembly, sales, and after-sales support. The collaboration marks a new chapter in Porsche’s long relationship with the water, dating back to the 1959 Type 729 boat engine, and demonstrates the brand’s commitment to engineering excellence, innovation, and sustainable luxury. With the eFantom Air, Porsche proves that E-Performance is not just a road concept — it can deliver exhilaration, precision, and refinement on the open water as well.
At boot Düsseldorf 2026, Porsche and Frauscher presented the next chapter of their collaboration in electric marine and automotive performance, marking their first major joint appearance at the world’s largest boat and watersports show. Together they showcased the world premiere of the Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre, an all‑new fully electric sports boat developed from the ground up around the Porsche Macan’s high‑voltage electric drive system. The boat reflects a design language shared between road and water, with a bespoke hull and performance architecture engineered to mirror the dynamics of Porsche’s electric vehicles.

The exhibition also featured the Macan Turbo Concept Lago, a customised concept vehicle that served as a stylistic bridge between land and sea. Finished in a coordinated Darkteal Metallic paint and built with bespoke interior materials such as yacht‑style wood and marine‑grade fabrics, the concept car underscored how design cues can flow between Porsche’s automotive and maritime expressions. Alongside these highlights, Porsche presented the German premiere of the Cayenne Electric, reinforcing the brand’s broader shift toward electrification while positioning luxury electric SUVs as natural companions for boating and watersport lifestyles.
