At the 2025 Watches & Wonders event in Geneva, Rolex introduced the Land-Dweller 40, marking its first entirely new model in over a decade. This release signifies a bold step for the brand, blending innovative technology with refined aesthetics.

Innovative Movement: Calibre 7135

Central to the Land-Dweller 40 is the newly developed Calibre 7135 movement. This high-frequency, 5 Hz self-winding mechanical movement features the Dynapulse escapement, a revolutionary system utilizing dual silicon wheels to enhance energy efficiency and durability. The movement’s design allows for precise timekeeping, measuring time to a tenth of a second, and boasts a 66-hour power reserve. Notably, the Calibre 7135 is thinner than most of Rolex’s previous movements, contributing to the watch’s sleek profile.

Design and Aesthetics

The Land-Dweller 40 showcases a modern integrated bracelet design, reminiscent of the historic Oysterquartz, and features a distinctive honeycomb-patterned dial achieved through femtosecond laser technology. The watch is available in various materials, including White Rolesor (a combination of Oystersteel and white gold), Everose gold, and platinum, each offering unique dial and bezel combinations. The case measures 40mm in diameter with a thickness of 9.70mm, making it notably slimmer than the Datejust 41.

With its advanced movement and refined design, it sets a new benchmark in Rolex’s lineup. The watch is available in select boutiques, with prices starting at $13,900 USD for the White Rolesor model and reaching up to $63,500 USD for the platinum version.
