Japan’s Yuri Yoshida claimed her first LPGA Tour victory at the 2026 BMW Ladies Championship, overcoming a four-stroke deficit to secure a one-shot win at Pine Beach Golf Links in Haenam, South Korea.

Yoshida finished the four-round tournament at 17-under-par with a total of 271, edging South Korea’s Haeran Ryu and Hye-Jin Choi by one stroke after a closely contested final round on Sunday, 25 October.

Starting the day four shots behind Ryu, Yoshida made an immediate move up the leaderboard. An eagle on the par-five second hole was followed by three consecutive birdies, setting the tone for an impressive front nine that brought her firmly into contention.

The Japanese golfer maintained her challenge through the back nine, despite a bogey on the 15th. A birdie on the 17th restored her advantage before a bogey on the final hole left the door open for her closest challengers.

However, neither Ryu nor Choi could capitalise, allowing Yoshida to secure the biggest victory of her professional career.

Ryu, who began the final round with a four-shot lead after rounds of 67, 64 and 68, carded a one-over-par 73 to finish at 16-under. The South Korean had led the championship through the opening three rounds but was unable to maintain her advantage in the challenging, rainy conditions.

Choi also finished at 16-under after a final-round 69. She had an opportunity to force a playoff with a birdie putt on the 18th, but the attempt narrowly missed, confirming Yoshida’s victory.

South Korea’s Hyo-Joo Kim and Minsol Kim shared fourth place at 15-under-par, completing a strong showing by the home players at the tournament.

Beyond the title battle, the championship also featured a standout moment in the second round when American Andrea Lee recorded a hole-in-one on the par-three eighth. The ace earned Lee a fully electric MINI Countryman SE ALL4.

The sixth edition of the BMW Ladies Championship brought four rounds of competitive golf to Pine Beach Golf Links, with Yoshida’s final-round performance ultimately deciding a tournament that remained in contention until the closing holes.

For Yoshida, the victory marks her maiden LPGA Tour title and a significant milestone in her professional career.
