As preparations for The Ocean Race Atlantic 2026 continue to gather momentum, the latest IMOCA campaigns are beginning to reveal not only their competitive ambitions but also the identities that will carry them across the Atlantic.
Continuing our Road to The Ocean Race Atlantic 2026 series, we turn our attention to Embrace The Challenge, the new campaign led by Swiss offshore sailor Oliver Heer. Officially unveiled in May, the project introduces a refreshed IMOCA campaign that combines a proven offshore platform with a philosophy rooted in resilience, adaptability and determination.

Presented in Lorient, France, the launch marked the public debut of the team’s new visual identity ahead of an important season that will include The Ocean Race Atlantic and the continued journey towards the 2028 Vendée Globe.
Unlike many IMOCA projects that revolve primarily around commercial partnerships, Embrace The Challenge takes its name from the mindset that has defined Oliver Heer’s offshore career. Developed following his completion of the 2024 Vendée Globe, the campaign reflects a belief that the greatest opportunities often emerge through adversity, with every challenge presenting another chance to learn, adapt and move forward.
Beneath the new identity lies one of the IMOCA fleet’s most established racing yachts. Originally launched in 2018 as Charal, the VPLP-designed foiling monohull has enjoyed a distinguished career at the highest level of offshore racing before joining Heer’s campaign. With a proven pedigree and extensive experience in some of the world’s toughest offshore events, the yacht provides a strong foundation for the Swiss skipper’s next competitive chapter.

The unveiling also introduced a distinctive new livery inspired by the dynamic weather systems that define offshore sailing. Flowing patterns and pressure-map influences reflect the ever-changing conditions encountered at sea while reinforcing the campaign’s central message of embracing uncertainty rather than resisting it.
Following the launch, the team’s focus quickly shifted from presentation to preparation. Extensive testing, commissioning and familiarisation have been central to the programme as Heer and his crew continue refining the IMOCA ahead of its first major competitive outings. Every mile sailed represents another step towards maximising performance before lining up on the start line of The Ocean Race Atlantic.
As the countdown continues, Embrace The Challenge enters the season with a campaign that blends proven performance, meaningful storytelling and long-term ambition. More than simply unveiling a new boat, the May launch established the identity of a team determined to embrace every obstacle on the road ahead.
