Aalsmeer, Netherlands – Dutch luxury yacht builder Feadship has lifted the veil on Project 717, a 49.50-metre yacht that exemplifies the shipyard’s signature balance of aesthetics, innovation, and comfort. Making her first appearance outside the Aalsmeer construction hall, Project 717 offers an impressive combination of sleek exterior lines, expansive outdoor spaces, and refined interior design.

Designed in collaboration with Studio De Voogt, the yacht’s exterior reflects careful attention to proportion and visual harmony. Jan Schaffers, Senior Designer at the studio, explained that the yacht’s extended lines “emphasise length and volume without allowing the yacht to feel stretched.” Widened shoulders along the sun deck and a strong focus on beach-style living on the main deck achieve this balance. Fold-down bulwarks transform the aft deck into a near-seamless extension of the sea, providing an outdoor space comparable to yachts nearly twice Project 717’s size.

The main deck aft is designed for social gatherings and relaxation, featuring a glass-fronted Jacuzzi and ample seating. Forward, large windows frame a private lounging and dining area, merging indoor comfort with a close connection to the outdoors. The sun deck is remarkably spacious, housing a flybridge, secondary helm station, bar units with barbecue, dining and lounging areas, and ceiling fans for comfort in warm climates. On the foredeck, sun pads and seating create a serene environment for guests, while large hull doors provide direct access to the tender garage.

Inside, the yacht comfortably accommodates ten guests in five staterooms, including a full-beam owner’s suite with panoramic views, private study, and dedicated dressing area. Interior design was led by Marty Lowe, Inc. in close collaboration with the owner and the yard, resulting in spaces that are both functional and luxurious.

Project 717 also benefits from Feadship’s Advanced Electrical Drive programme, which enhances efficiency, maneuverability, and onboard comfort through thruster-assisted propulsion and steering. This innovative system reduces drag while maintaining a smooth and quiet experience for guests on board.

Earlier this year, Feadship announced the successful resale of Project 717 through its Resale division, demonstrating the company’s commitment to supporting clients throughout the lifecycle of their yachts.

With final preparations underway, Project 717 will soon head to the North Sea for sea trials, paving the way for a spring delivery that promises to make waves in the world of luxury yachting.
